Gananoque Holiday Classic
Welcome to our Gananoque Holiday Classic REP Hockey Tournament.
The Novice Rep portion of the tournament is is dedicated to the memory of Corporal Randy Payne. Cpl. Randy Payne, was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in 2006. Randy grew up in Gananoque and was both a hockey star and captain of the Jr. B Islanders. No matter what sport he was playing, he was the ultimate team player, always there to protect his teammates, no matter how big the opposition was. . We are pleased to be able to have this trophy here for the Champions of the Novice Rep Holiday Classic Hockey tournament. Forever and always, a member of Gananoque Minor Hockey Association, Corporal Randy Payne.
The Atom and Peewee portions of our tournament is dedicated to the memory of Gananoque native Gary Mangan. Gary was a long coach and mentor in GMHA. Sadly Gary passed away in 2004. Gary believed the path you lay down today shapes tomorrow by using all your senses to steer yourselves and others within that path. In this game of life competition exists just by living every day and enjoying seeing magic made within our youth developing. Winning or losing, being there to live it trumps it all.
