Message from our President -- PLEASE READ
The GMHA continues to receive updates from the Ontario Hockey Federation on what a return to play may look like come September or thereafter. With the unknown we are also continuing to work closely with our recreational facility staff to plan out what return to play will look like and how we can effectively implement the program when we are given the go ahead.

At this point in time we have set up a "GMHA REGISTRATION DURING COVID-19" link on our website (Top left hand corner on the home page).  This will help us determine what our numbers may look like and we ask at this time you complete the survey so that the GMHA executive can make an informed decision on how best to roll out a

program and what the numbers would look like at each level. Anyone who registers or who already has registered, will be entered in a draw for one free hockey registration for the 2020-2021 season, cut off date for the draw is August 14th.

As the exact details of the hockey season are unknown at this time payment is not required.  Registering now will ensure that you have a spot in your desired division, with payment information to come as soon as we are able to share it.

Currently, we have been advised by KAMHA that they are looking into allowing only players who fall under the KFL&A Health Unit area to participate in KAMHA's proposed roll out for the upcoming hockey season. It is our understanding that Kingston's proposal is still in the planning stages and not confirmed at this time. This could effect any player who was previously registered with KAMHA and residence falls within the Gananoque and Leeds & Grenville Health Unit boundaries. We will be following this development closely and will update our members as we know anything.

The GMHA Executive are also looking for any volunteers who wish to assist us with working with the Town in meeting all guidelines to be able to return to play.  Our executive will be stretched thin in getting last minute registrations and programs ready for roll out. Should you have interest to sit on our Return to Play Committee please reach out to the Executive with your interest, you can email [email protected].

Yours in hockey,

Robb Bowman
GMHA President
