A Special Night of Hockey Honouring Gord Brown
February 5 was a night to remember at the Gord Brown Memorial Canada 150 Outdoor Rink as the GMHA U15 Rep team took part in a meaningful community game honouring the life and legacy of Gord Brown.

Braving the cold, players, families, and community members came together for an evening filled with great hockey, laughter, and shared memories. The U15 Rep team faced off against Gord Brown’s family and friends in a game that reflected everything the night was about. Fun, respect, and community spirit.

The action on the ice did not disappoint. After three exciting periods, the game ended in a 4–4 tie, sending it to a shootout. In a thrilling finish, the GMHA U15 Rep team earned a 6–5 shootout win, capping off an already unforgettable evening.

GMHA would like to sincerely thank the Brown family, the Town of Gananoque, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. It was a wonderful tribute to Gord Brown and a special way for our players and community to come together and create lasting memories.

The philosophy of the program is not based on winning or losing, but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just being a kid. Tim Hortons currently supports more than 300,000 children on teams in hockey, soccer, ringette, lacrosse, softball and baseball leagues in Canada. Our sponsorship includes jerseys, coaching tools, participation medals and a local “Timbits Jamboree” to help kick off, or wrap up each season.
