OMHA Playdown Weekend Recap
Congratulations to the ATOM REP team on their 9-5 win over Ennismore on Saturday to clinch a spot in the OMHA Atom B Quarter Finals.  Up next is either the Elmvale Coyotes or the Parry Sound Shamrocks. Quarter finals are not likely to start the Feb 16th weekend.

The BANTAM REP team defeated Newcastle 6-0 on Sunday, but will have to wait to see until next weekend if they advance to the Quarter Finals.  In round robin play our Bantams sit with 6 points but Ennismore has 4, the deciding game will be played here at home on Saturday at 5:00pm. If Gan defeats Ennismore than they move on to play the winner of Penetang and Parry Sound. If Ennismore wins then Gan and Ennismore will be tied with 6 points each and will have to play a one game playoff game to determine who will move on.

The NOVICE REP team played two games this past weekend, losing to Ennismore 9-3 on Saturday. On Sunday, they played Lindsay and tied 1-1. On Saturday they will get a chance to avenge their loss to Ennismore here at home and Sunday sees the PEC Kings travel to Gan.

The PEEWEE REP team fell to Ennismore 6-2, they too will get a chance to turn the table on Ennismore with a rematch here on Saturday at 3:30pm. The Peewees season will continue with the EOMHL League Playoffs.

The MIDGET REP team played the Newcastle Stars on Sunday, it was a back and forth game, but Gan fell 4-2 to the Stars. The Midgets will take on Ennismore on Saturday at 7pm.

THE FIRST GOAL IS HAVING FUN. The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program that provides opportunities for kids aged four to nine to play house league sports. The philosophy of the program is not based on winning or losing, but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just being a kid. Tim Hortons currently supports more than 300,000 children on teams in hockey, soccer, ringette, lacrosse, softball and baseball leagues in Canada. Our sponsorship includes jerseys, coaching tools, participation medals and a local “Timbits Jamboree” to help kick off, or wrap up each season. For more information on registering for a Timbits Program in your community, please contact your local minor sports association.
