OMHA Playdowns -- Weekend Recap
Submitted By Marilynn Thivierge on Monday, February 6, 2017
All our REP teams were in action this past weekend.....

The Thomson Fastener Novice REP team were in action both saturday and sunday, and had a couple of tough losses. They fell to Lindsay on saturday and to Napanee on Sunday.

The Gan Chev Olds  Atom REP team played back to back games with Stirling.  While the Atoms had their number during the regular season, they lost both games in Playdowns and have been eliminated from OMHA Playdowns.

The Baldree's No Frills Peewee REP team fell to Ennismore friday night and were eliminated from OMHA Playdowns.

The atom and peewee teams will know be competing in the EOMHL League Playoffs. Dates and times will be scheduled shortly.

The Home Hardware Midget REP team drove to Ennismore for Game five saturday with hopes of clinching the series, but they lost a tight game by a score of 2-0.  Game 6 was back in Gan on sunday, and it certainly was a nail bitter!!! The game was do or die for either team.  Gan took an early 2-0 lead, but Ennismore tied it up and went ahead 3-2 by the end of the second.  Gan tied things up, and took the lead 4-3, with seconds left on the clock and everyone on their feet, Ennismore scored and tied the game... Off to OT we went.... with just over a minute left in the first OT Gan scored and clinched the series.

The midgets next meet the Parry Sound Shamrocks in the Quarter Finals.  Stay tuned to the GMHA website for details of when the games are.
